I'm really looking for black hi-top converse, but I don't want to pay about $50 for a pair. Wal*Mart has hi-top Coverse-style shoes for about $12, but they only come in maroon and brown. Has anyone has any experience painting these types of shoes? I was thinking I could spray paint them black, but will that make them uber-stiff and hard to wear? Or, since they're shoes, will it not make too much of a difference? Any thoughts or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

3. What items do you customise? I mainly customize clothing. I do toys, occasionally, and love making my own jewelry, but my recons are usually clothing.

4. Whats one thing you have made you are really proud of? Actually, I was going to post photos under a cut, and these are the most recent things I'm most proud of.

None of these are for sale, just for me. The red jacket is my particular fave right now because it was made from an old lady's quilted moo moo. (I know that's not how it's spelled, but eh.) So hopefully you enjoy my stuff! What a great community! (X-posted to craftster, but only one person commented so it's pretty much buried under the other posts now).

I dunno if this is generally allowed, but I'm sort of stuck. My grandma gave me this wifebeater that had "South Beach Rocks" on the front of it. I painted over that with black, and then did black, white, and purple stripes down the whole thing. I wish I could post a picture, but I can't find the cable for my digital camera. Basically the pattern is: thick black stripe, thin white strip, thin purple stripe, thin white stripe, thick black stripe.

Moving on, basically, I want to put a stencil on it. But I don't know what! The stencil would be out of this metallic purple paint I have. So, anyone have any ideas? Or their favourite stencils? Help a girl out!
